Our Preschool aged children (3 or 4 years by August 30) are introduced to Bible Stories with simple puppet figures and historical backgrounds through the delightful Let the Children Come curriculum. Leaders offer simple crafts, music, and movement to complement the stories and spark the imaginations of our youngest learners.
Our Kindergarten and First grade children engage in Godly Play, a Montessori-based curriculum written by Jerome Berryman. Godly Play uses a careful telling of scripture stories and encourages children to seek and find answers to their faith questions. The innate spirituality of children is respected and encouraged allowing them to experience the mystery and joy of God in a peaceful environment.
Our Second and Third grades teachers blend two lectionary based curricula, Living the Good News and Sermons4kids. These lessons are aligned with the readings used in church each Sunday, which means there are great opportunities for dialogue between parents and children about the days’ readings.
Fourth and Fifth graders study the lectionary based curriculum, Living the Good News and also learn more about our church and faith with the unit based Episcopal Children’s Curriculum. Children begin to think about things from more varied perspectives and apply scriptural understanding to life.
Fifth though Eighth Graders are offered a Sunday morning education class to complement the Junior EYC program. This class has a discussion-based format centered around My Faith, My Life by Jenifer Gamber. Excellent role models for teens are a key component to this program.
Church school classes meet in the education building, which adjoins our main worship building. All children are escorted back to the sanctuary to join their families for communion at approximately 10:40 a.m.
Classes meet in the education building as follows:
Pre-Kindergarten: 3 or 4 years of Age by August 30 – Upper Level, Room 231
Kindergarten and First Grade– Lower Level, Godly Play Room

A core group of dedicated, caring volunteers teaches Sunday school classes
